League of Friends of Shipston Hospitals: Ellen Badger

Established in 1973 by the visionary Mrs. Joan Hughes MBE, along with local doctors and community members, the League of Friends of Shipston Hospitals (Ellen Badger) is dedicated to enhancing medical services for both current and former patients of Ellen Badger Hospital. The League continues to devote time and resources to supporting various medical services and patient groups. Recently, they provided a new vehicle for Shipston’s first responders, underscoring their ongoing commitment to the community’s health and well-being, including being a champion of the Beds for Badger campaign.

Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE

Doctor and TV Broadcaster

The campaign for beds at the Ellen Badger has my full support, not least because it aligns with the governments long term plan for the NHS.

Rural community hospitals like The Ellen Badger perform a vital role in local primary care and in doing so can ease the pressure on district general hospitals, reducing both waiting and travel time.

We must all draw attention to the need for the facilities and the services that are growing South Warwick community requires and was promised.
